Despite our society's continued fascination with high-tech careers, there exists a vital need for well trained, qualified individuals to fill thousands of well paying jobs in traditional fields of endeavor ranging from agricultural science to carpentry, public services, medical/health sciences, transportation/automotive technology, welding, and many more.

Future job opportunities will require that a candidate be at least a high school graduate with technical skills, preferably with an additional 2-year or 4-year college degree. The Fayette County Public School System (FCPS) offers its high school students opportunities to acquire knowledge and marketable skills through innovative programs offered at the Eastside and Southside Technical Centers.
